Lotte Thor as new Chief Press & Communications Officer

The Danish tech startup SASHA is joined by Chief Press & Communications Officer Lotte Thor Høgsberg on the essential journey to protect people against image abuse on the internet. After operating in stealth mode, the company is now ready to step into the spotlight.

SASHA, short for Safe Share, was founded in 2020 with the vision of combating online image abuse and fostering a safer and more inclusive digital world through groundbreaking technology. Globally, we share billions of images online every day, and a concerning number of these images are misused and redistributed without consent.

Lotte Thor, a Danish journalist known for her time as anchor and host on local TV, e.g. DR News, TV2, and TV3, is now part of the SASHA team. After her television career, she held positions such as Editorial Chief for “Danmarks Indsamlingen” (the united Danish appeal for funds), Press Chief at BC Hospitality Group, Communication Chief at Nordic Female Founders, and has run her own communication firm.

Serial entrepreneur Thomas Eriksson is the mind behind SASHA - Safe Share, currently valued at a three-digit million valuation, with experts estimating a potential value in the billions.

"My goal from the beginning has been to revolutionize the fight against image-based abuse and, most importantly, make a huge difference for the victims who continue to be burdened by the burden of proof. That's why I'm thrilled to have Lotte Thor on our team, as our work requires passionate and professional individuals. We're not just facing a gigantic problem; we're in the midst of it, as most have noticed with the increased focus on digital education, well-being, and security. That's why it's crucial for me to assemble a dedicated team so that we can establish international standards for digital behavior. Thinking about it, you wouldn’t just hand over your private photos or information to anyone. The reality, however, is that most people already do that every day without thinking about it," says Thomas Eriksson.

Lotte Thor states, "When Thomas and his team contacted me back in December, I was curious to hear more because they were so passionate about challenging the injustice we see online. I find the misuse of people's private images online particularly worrying, especially because women and children are often targeted. The fact that it's digital makes it even more crucial, as for many, it's an unknown realm when it comes to moral, law, and order. I know many who have had their identities and photos misused and stolen online, and I have personally experienced severe digital abuses too. I also think it's powerful that Denmark has entrepreneurs who are willing to take on an immensely complex and important global problem. I look forward to being a part of it."

SASHA's technology makes it possible to prove ownership of an image, and potentially identify the first-link leaker if an image is abused online - even if the image is manipulated. Most importantly, SASHA - Safe Share ensures complete privacy for the user by protecting the images without viewing or saving them.
